So I would like to address some of those recent changes.

Sponsorship- We have entered into a Sponsorship agreement with Bar’s Leaks and Rislone for a 2 year deal. They have been OUTSTANDING to work with. I am so glad that we are working together.One last word on sponsorship, we are always looking for associate sponsors, so if you are a potential sponsor (It doesn’t have to be food related) or know someone, we offer a great sponsorship package.

Competitions – We have competed in 2 comps so far. We are seeing improvement with each event and we are very excited for the future.

Media – We have had some serious media exposure of late. I was a feature article in the Flint Journal on Fathers Day, and Steve and I got a chance to do a live segment on Fox 2 Detroit on 7/2/2010. Also Scott got some publicity for his 33 years of service as a police officer!!  Links for all can be found below:

They paid out over $100,000 in prize money!! There were over 220 teams entered in this contest.

Some very good friends did really well!!   Troy Conner of Extreme Roasters got 1st place in the Brisket Category. He finished up 27th overall (remember, out of 220 teams).

The Smokin Scotsmen, also from Michigan came in 21st overall!! What a great showing!!

The Motley Que Crew, from Michigan as well, came in 78th overall.

I am very proud of these friends great showing in a very tough competition!!

We started out in 2006 as a part of another Competition BBQ Team and got addicted. I started this team in 2007 with my nephew Andy Terry. We cooked one contest in 2007 and finished in the bottom half of the field. In 2008 we added Steve Coddington and we cooked in 3 contests. We finished in the top  10 in 2 of the contests and in the upper half of the remaining contest.We also started catering in 2008. In 2009 we were unable to compete as much as we wanted to due to scheduling conflicts. In 2010 we added 2 new team members Bruce Bissonnette and Scott Fischer. We are planning on competing more and continuing with the catering. Please check back often for updates and great BBQ stories and pictures.
